"When I opened this bag, it had a strong funny chemical smell to it. I ran it through the washing machine and dryer, and the smell is gone. But wow! It was strong.
The bag itself is nothing to write home about; there are no inside compartments or pockets, and none outside either.
I decided to keep it to use as a beach bag or workout bag, but I'm not thrilled with it like I usually am with any FP item.
The fabric is rough."

"This bag is everything that has been already said about it... very large, one large open compartment, no lining. But also, something about it makes it smell strongly, either the rope or the canvas material. It bothered me so ended up returning it."

"I'm fairly short, about 5'3", and this bag overwhelms me......however, I love the style and of course FP never spares a detail! I doubt I ever carry it as an everyday purse, but will use it as a travel bag/carry-on. Great concept, I really do wish it were smaller so I could tote it every day! It even looks huge with the model holding it so I shoulda figured as much :0) Like another reviewer said, no lining and extra large; I prefer a zipper but if it's just used as a tote a little tie will suffice. Too cute to return, that is for sure, especially for the price. Gotta love FP!"

"I like this bag, but it's much, much bigger than I anticipated — To test its durability, I put my entire existing hobo bag inside this one with room to spare. — and I'm not sure what to do with it. I probably won't be able to carry it as an everyday bag like I planned. It's very rugged looking, unlined (which surprised me), but it's of a very cool style. Might take it traveling with me, but will have to invest in a shoulder massage on the way home."

"Just received this bag and it is beautiful. It is bigger than I thought it was going to be and it doesn't have any other pockets, but overall it is very comfortable. It has a vintage feel to it. I am pleased and will continue to shop at Free People."
