"Overall I think these Siwy splatter shorts are cute and interesting. They definitely run at least a size large (I typically wear size 30 or maybe 31 in shorts, 29 fits in the hips but is a little large in the waist still), so buy at least 1 size down from your normal designer jean size. The denim is thick, but there is a generous amount of stretch in the fabric as well. The overall shape is very flattering: wide waist band, contoured shaping on the hips, and uniquely stitched back pockets. The color in the photo seems off: the denim is actually a dark blue with very mild distressing on the thighs. The splatter effect in particular seems misrepresented in the photograph. The splatter patterns are unique to each item. The "gold" is actually gold paint with a lot of glitter. I rubbed off some to tone down the sparkle, and that seemed to look closer to the splatters shown in photograph. I suspect they rubbed off almost all of the glitter on the item pictured. I am a little concerned about how they will hold up when washed. The overall splatter pattern on my pair did concentrate mostly on the hips (though not as perfectly as the photograph) and in two general areas on the rear. I intend to wear these shorts with fairly basic solid colored tops, as they are fairly bold (and maybe a little weird). Overall the sizing of these Siwy splatter shorts runs at least a size large and the gold splatter is different than pictured, but the overall effect is very cute and worth the sale price."

"I'm addicted to Siwy jeans, and when I saw these I knew I needed them. When I finally received the shorts, they had more gold splatter on them than displayed. It's not as even, and doesn't go along the slide of the hips like shown on the picture. The splattering was pretty much everywhere, and looked like I could have done it myself. The same goes with the backside of the shorts. I returned them, not only because it didn't look flattering but also because they run rather large (almost like I swished around in them!). I was able to slip them on and off without unbuttoning or zippering.
I think the splattering would vary from each pair of denim, and I recommend going a size smaller."
