"I found this top in a department store browsing the new Free People they'd gotten in for fall. I was kind of blown away when I saw it. This kind of tunic thing isn't normally my style, but this one struck me as something particularly special. The level of detailing is extraordinary-- the silver embroidery is delicate and finely done. The fabric is silky, a deep navy color. The entire top is very well made, so you're getting what you're paying for even though it's expensive. I'm small so I was worried it wouldn't fit, but I just bought on the small side- XS- and it worked well enough (it does fit loose, I think you can size down). I took it to the counter to buy and the first salesgirl said, "Oh, wow, I've had my eye on that top, I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy it." The second said, "I haven't seen that!! Is that new?? What I like about it is that it's so subtle, which isn't always the case with Free People." She said she doesn't usually buy FP (I, on the other, hand, buy plenty) but she might buy this. They suggested I style it with grey jeans. I was really interested by the fact that the top appealed so much to three very different girls with very different personal styles. Oh, you can only kind of tell in the third photo, but another nice touch is the slits in the sleeves, kind of a ladder effect (so you see a subtle bit of shoulder, haha). So I'm basically thrilled ;-)"
