almost perfect pencil skirt

"I love a pencil skirt and this tartan take is no exception. Interesting tweaks in the design make this skirt even better: slight curve in the hem so that the back is longer than the front and detailing along the rear slit with the change in pattern.
My only hesitation is a common one for me.....despite healthy hips, I have a small waist and often find that pencil skirts could be no smaller in the hips/thighs, but could lose an inch or two in the waist. This skirt (a size 8 to accommodate my butt) fits almost perfectly, but there is a little extra room around my waist and I definitely can't wear it as high as the model in the photo or I would be swimming in it.
Complaint aside, I love the skirt, received many compliments upon wearing it and, for the price, couldn't be happier.

A new twist on an old classic!

"I already have an A-line plaid skirt that I bought a few years ago from Anthropologie in my closet (still love it), but was searching for a pencil plaid skirt in a bold colour and I've found it! Most plaid skirts out there are usually A-line or maxi style and it was difficult to find it in a pencil skirt style. It's designed with a slight inverted curve at the front...love it! I'm usually a size 10 in skirts and 12 in dresses and the 10 fits perfectly!"
