"This is the most I've ever spent on a pair of shoes, so I was relieved when the quality exceeded my expectations. You can tell they are professionally hand made, and the platform is made of real wood (but doesn't make the shoe too heavy). I do think I'll seal the wood so it's waterproof, as I'm not so sure they are right out of the box. I'd hate to get caught in the rain in these and for the wood to get ruined. They took a wee bit of breaking in, but after wearing them about three days they are perfectly comfortable. I typically wear a 7.5, but 8 was the closest size available, however they aren't too big at all. They feel great. If you're going to splurge, I highly recommend!"
