Not for me !
5.15.2013
"Contemplated buying this dress a long time and studied all the reviews and went for it. I agree that the underneath slip is unwearable- just too small .I had read that the dress ran large so ordered down a size but it does not fit and i don't think going up a size will be any better . I am tall, a size M and a B cup and it was way too tight all over , felt like an XXXS . It was also a bit of a fussy hem for me , it looks much simpler in the photo even for a lacy dress. I took a chance and after re-reading the reviews again i just don't get it . Every item i buy from FP fits well and i usually size down , this one is a mystery!"

sheer slip again
5.12.2013
"i do like the idea of this dress. the material does have quite a bit of weight to it, but that helps with the drape. but there're a few issues. 1. no one else has mentioned it, so it might just have been my dress. i got it in a store and it has this musky smell, kinda like the smell on the fp shopping bags. i tried airing it out and had a fan blow at it for a couple of days, but the smell persists. it's very likely that the smell will go away with a wash, but it's kinda turned me off. 2. i like the back of the dress, but the front is very plain if you don't accessorize. it definitely needs a long necklace. 3. this is the deal breaker for me. i got the ivory and the slip is useless because it's tight and it's sheer. i'm tired of buying pieces that comes with a slip that still requires something else to be worn underneath."

Very pretty but the slip is useless
5.5.2013
"I purchased the lilac and the color is very pretty and the dress itself is gorgeous and appears to be well made. However, once again I find that the slips Free People give with these sheer dresses are cheap, too thin, too short and definitely too tight! I purchased my regualr FP size M and the dress fits perfect and roomy the way I like it. The slip however fits like an XS! I find myself just taking out the slips these dresses come with and just using my own. I wish they would give us something like the stretchy comfy Seamless Mini slip which I am sure only costs them dollars to make. I would have given 5 stars were it not for the cheap slip it ocmes with. However, I still love FP and i do still recommend this dress."

Light and breezy

"I absolutely love this dress! Makes me feel beautiful and airy. Its so easy to style and looks great with just a necklace and converse, thats all this dress need really. Its very roomy, so if you want it to fit a little more snug around below your bust order it a size smaller! Fabric feels amazing and its easy to wash too!"

Lovely, with Caveats.
5.1.2013
"I really liked this dress online, and even when it arrived, I was still in love. I prefer my dresses to be more fitted because I'm very curvy, so shapeless dresses aren't flattering as a general rule. I decided to order the medium (usually wear a large), and it fit almost perfectly. The slip that came with it was unbearably tight, but it's removable. However, I'll need to replace it with a long tank or different slip because you can see through the lace panels. I'm going to try it with a leather belt to give it more structure under the bust. My one complaint is that I wish the sleeves had more drape. The picture leads you to believe that they're 3/4 sleeves and quite "flowy", and my dress had sleeves that were definitely shorter."

Beautiful and Simple

"I wore this to a horse race event. Although its very casual its so versatile that it was easily dressed up with the right jewlery and shoes. Make sure to keep this dress on a hanger when you're not wearing it. It's really prone to wrinkles!
Otherwise- Love it!!!

underneath slip too short
4.29.2013
"I got this dress in the sand color and it looks beautiful. except one downside, i really find the underneath slip too short. and i am not even that tall (165cm, for those who use the metric system). other than that, it probably will become my new favourite dress."

My new favorite
4.16.2013
"I adore the fit of this dress. It's loose and baggy, but doesn't make me look big. I have a hard time sizing dresses b/c I'm larger on top and smaller on the bottom. I had to get a medium b/c I have a larger chest (32F) and it fits great, the slip that comes with it to wear underneath it is snug, but still fits. I don't plan on wearing the slip with it, but just so you know it's a lot smaller than the dress. I'm going to wear a slip skirt underneath with a tank on top. I plan on wearing this dress a lot this summer, wish it came in other darker colors!"

SAD
4.15.2013
"This dress in the sand color caught my eye when it first came out online, but I was SOOOO disappointed when I tried it on in stores. I agree with the reviewers below that this dress is heavy and has a super awkward fit. It sadly made me look VERY stumpy and I had no choice, but to pass. Would only recommend to women who have an identical body to this model."

my favorite new dress
4.14.2013
"I have a number of different FP dresses, but this is my absolutely favorite. It is soft and flowy, and the material is the perfect balance between sheer/lightweight yet substantial enough to not feel self-conscious. I have the cream color and love it so much that I'm tempted to buy it in black as well. I see others had struggles with the sizing, but the S fit me perfectly. For reference, I am 5'7" and about 128 lbs with a 36A chest."

Versatile LBD for Me
4.5.2013
"Black is the one for me. Although I loved the other two and was considering the sand color, I went with the black, and it is a true black, not faded. This dress is so versatile and I chose the black because it can easily go from day to night with just a change of shoes and accessories. I'm 5'10 and a size 6 and I went with the small. Even though I'm tall it's not too short for me, and I love how the hem in the back is longer. I'm picturing wearing this with combat or cowboy boots, my Joe's lace-up boots, and gladiator sandals or even flip-flops this summer."

Heavy Dress
4.5.2013
"I ordered this dress in the black and was disappointed in how heavy it was. I'm only 5'1", and this dress seemed to overwhelm my body with all of its material. It was as if the dress wore me rather than me wearing the dress. I had to return it :-("

Beautiful Dress
4.1.2013
"I ordered this for my daughter as a surprise, she had seen pictures of Taylor Swift in it and loved it. I got the size sm and it was just too big :(. We sent it back and ordered the xs. When my oldest daughter saw it she decided she wanted one also, but in black, so we ordered that one too. I can't wait for these to arrive! This is a gorgeous dress, sure to get a lot of compliments!"

Adorable, Beautiful Dress!
3.29.2013
"I tried this dress on in the store because I wanted to see how it looked in person, and to ensure I got the right fit, and I definitely recommend trying it on before you buy (especially for you busty gals!). I am a 34DD, 5' 4", 148 lbs, and I needed a medium in order for the top to fit correctly. If you have a smaller chest though, then a small should definitely work. The fit is nice everywhere else too - it drapes nicely, and doesn't look like a huge lump of fabric; in fact, it looks adorable and ethereal. Another thing to note though is that this dress construction and fabric are super delicate - I tried on a medium, but it already had the lace separating from the fabric, so I asked for a different one. Be ultra gentle with the dress! Now, I did buy it, because it is adorable, gorgeous, and looks amazing, but with the fact in mind that it will need to be treated with the utmost delicacy and care. Overall, a great buy!"

Beautiful & Versatile
3.29.2013
"This dress is both beautiful and comfortable. I purchased it in the ivory in a small (I usually wear a medium) because I was afraid it would look like a muumuu. The small fit but was shorter in front than I liked (I am 5'10") so I exchanged for the medium. Surprisingly the medium fits great. It's not quite as fitted up top as the small but still has a nice shape and it's long enough that I can wear it as a dress. I love this with a long cardigan and tall boots now and am looking forward to wearing it in the summer with sandals. I'm considering buying the lilac version, too. The only reason I knocked off a star is because, though the fabric has some heft, it's also delicate and snags very easily. I snagged it twice the first time I wore it but was able to pull the snags through so they're not noticeable. Take care, though!"

sizing depends on the fit you prefer.
3.28.2013
"i am 5 ft 6 and 130 lbs 36 bust and 34 b bra. under bust I measure a 31 and 1/2
i purchased the small ( online) and it fit me just like the lilac photo looks. i wanted a looser dress so I exchanged for a medium. the small slip fit great and worked nicely with the dress. If you want a tighter under bust area (this is where the lace hit me) i would get your normal size. if you want a looser dress then I would size up. the small hit me about 3-4 inches above my knee. If you buy your correct size the slip should fit a tad loose, but not so much it will move around. very comfortable.
I read one of the reviews regarding the fabric. It feels like a gauze type of fabric to me. If you are familiar with JPB it is similar to the fabric most of her stuff is made from. Very light but not overly sheer.

Pretty but a little frumpy
3.28.2013
"This dress is beautiful! But there are some negatives to report: there was a huge hole in the lace area right out of the box, I'm 5'9" and 185 lbs. and ordered a large and it was VERY loose...will return for a medium, also the length from the top of the shoulders to the bottom of the scoop neck is very long so I was having to adjust it constantly so that my boobs weren't about to pop out. Overall pretty but order a size smaller than you'd normally order and expect holes #this is a trend in the reviews# that you'll either have to sew up yourself or return for another dress and hope it doesn't also have holes."

"It fits strangely when you try it on. The large is too large the Medium is too large the small is too small. There is a lot of fabric in the back and it makes you look bigger than you are. It looks adorable in photos but it really is not as great when you try it on. Not worth the $$$."
