Awkward fit

"I was really excited to try this dress! I had been waiting until it went on sale. It's beautiful in person. The dress itself goes in at the bra line but then the fit was really strange. I think because the zipper is on the side? It add a lot of extra bulk. It basically went out into an A line from the bust...not a good look. Made me look so wide. I think if I had gotten a size smaller it would have looked a lot better, but no way the top would have supported me if I went down a size. It's beautiful dress but the cut was no good for me."

"I'm not familiar with US sizing, but I usually pick size S or M when buying from FP, so according to size chart, I had sizes 4-10 to choose from. I usually have to size up because of my bust, shoulders or hips. I usually wear a size 34D bra, or 36C whenever I want a more comfortable fit around rib cage, as I drop between sizes. I ordered this dress in size 8, and the size is okay. I think I could have easily squeezed myself into 6 as well, but at least 8 has enough room for bras if I feel like wearing them with the dress, and it is not too loose without bras. It is a bit too loose around rib cage, but not so much that I would want to return the dress. Sides of the bust have a bit strange, baggy fit, but I don't think it's a sizing issue, you can see it on the model as well.
It is definitely too big for my small waist, but sizing down wouldn't help with that. But I don't really mind. I still find this dress unusually flattering to a hourglass figure, those sheer panels at the sides and the back give a slimmer appearance to waist than usual empire-waist dress. Still, it's definitely better on someone long and lean. I plan to get a bronze or gold toned chain waist belt to go with the dress, and it should look awesome even on me.
I have to shorten it a couple of inches because I'm only 5,5". It's too long even with heels.
Other than the fit, it is the most beautiful dress I've ever seen and very good quality. Definitely worth the sale price."

"Well, I saw this dress online last week and after having read all of the great reviews- I decided to splurge and on an impulse went ahead and ordered it. I havent ordered from FP in quite a while, mainly because of quality and price issues I have experienced in the past + the fact that you still have to pay for shipping, which I don't really like given that most online stores nowadays cover shipping. Anyway, I even paid extra for 2 day shipping because I was excited to get this dress home.
Looks like sadly enough, I am going to have to pay to return it.
Size wise - i think it does run a bit large. I got an 8 and i am 5'9, 34C and a little under 150lbs. It is loose around my ribs and the straps seem a bit flimsy. The length hit right above my toes. It is a very pretty dusty gray-blue color but it is also very bulky - has more of a "gown" feel to it than a maxi dress. Lots of fabric starting right under the bust makes it look very puffy. I think it would make a nice early-stage maternity dress or to hide a bit of weight gain in your stomach and legs.
It definitely doesnt help that the dress arrives in such wrinkled disarray. If you order this to wear for a specific occasion make sure you give yourself time to have it steamed to remove the wrinkles."

"I was in love with this dress as soon as it came out but I didn't want to pay regular price. Sale price is awesome! Very high quality dress. The blue has more gray in it and is a deeper color than the studio pic. The gold stitching is more intense in person and has more contrast. I am a 32C and 5'9". I usually wear a 4 in free people dresses but had to exchange it for a 2. The length on me is perfect it almost touches the floor. Overall great dress and not one you will find anywhere else!"

"This dress really does look better in person! The golden is an intense color and the blue seems deeper than in the pictures. The material is really nice and doesn't look cheap at all. As for the fit: I'm 5,2'' 112 lb, 34C and got the size 2 because it was the only available at the time. I thought it was going to be very tight at first, but when I tried the dress on it fit just right. I mean, it fits snug, but I can breathe and move normally. Of course, since I'm petite the dress is really long for me, but I think I can fix that and it's not a deal breaker. I think us petite girls can wear it and still look awesome!"

"I saw this online and had been wanting it for a few weeks so when it came on sale, I jumped on it! When it came, it wasn't in perfect condition. Of course it was wrinkled from shipping, but there were a few places where the metallic trim had separated from the chiffon outer layer. Fortunately, I was able to repair that with little effort. At 5'2" it was long on me, but with some heels and some tailoring it will fit much better. It does have somewhat of a high-low hemline, but that just adds to the uniqueness of the dress. It is actually a much more muted color than the online image, but I think it looks much more glamourous in person."

"I saw this in stores when it first came out and it was magnificent, but I could not bring myself to pay full price. When it hit the sales rack, I snagged it immediately. The dress is beautiful, the gold sparkles, and the chiffon doesn't look cheap. I'm a bit heavier, wearing normally pants 30-31/10-12, L in shirts, and 36D, the 10 was too small for my bust (everything else was fine). This dress zips from the side with no room for stretch so it's important you order the right size. I will be exchanging however it sucks I have to wait a couple weeks for this to come in."

"This dress is absoulety stunning!! this dress can be used for a fancy, but not too fancy event or even for something casual!! The length can be long for someone who isnt tall. I'm 5'7 and got a 0 and it barley touches the floor (which i dont mind, I just have to be careful so it doesnt get really dirty). There are also adjustable straps if you think it might be too low in the front for you. If u are worried about wearing a bra, dont worry it doesnt show unless of course u wear a sports bra or anything simliar, other than that it rocks."
