"I'm 5'8 and 105 lbs, and ordered the XS. The arms are a little bit tight in the shoulder area, but everything else fits well. I was nervous that since I don't really have any curves (small chest and hips), the dress might just look like an oversized t-shirt, but I figured if it made me look like I was drowning in fabric I could use an elastic belt at the waist to bring out my figure. I haven't ended up needing to do that because while the dress is loose, it's still very flattering! I constantly get compliments when I wear it out, and people asking where they can get this piece. The material is very soft and comfortable, and lightweight enough to wear on hot days. Perfect for a casual day out!"

"A few months ago I got it in an xs in grey and was so disappointed in it bc the arms were SO tight and the rest had no shape. This time I thought about how i could pair it, and ordered a small. The arms fit much better (I really don't have fat arms!) but I'll be pairing it with a waist-high belt or something to give it a little shape, otherwise I feel like I'm wearing an open robe, and that feeling is really noticeable if I bend over because all the fabric flaps out in front. yeesh! But I'm keeping it and using it as a layering basic to show off some of my boots and knee high socks."

"this is one of my favs. the shape is flattering, it's not sheer so it doesn't require something else under, and it's at a great price point. i'm 5'3" and the length is perfect on me. it's long enough in the front that i don't need to wear something underneath, but there''s enough room for a slip or tank/skirt if desired without making it all too bulky. the buttons are also perfect as i'm able to wear them all unbuttoned and it's still not too scandalous. i don't have skinny arms but i don't find the sleeves to be too tight. i think this piece is very flexible in that you can wear it on its own, or with anything else (shorts, jeans, slips, skirts etc.)."

"I spotted this in the FP store and was immediately drawn to the heather grey. In the XS the arms were super tight. I have thin noodle arms and was surprised, so I tried the small and it fit perfectly.
The dress is flowy and cut too high in the front to be worn with out the proper coverage. Tights, or cute small shorts will be necessary.
The fabric is super soft. The top is well fitted so that although the rest of the dress bellows, it works well because it'll still show off your limbs."

"i have never been so disappointed from what i've ordered from free people before. i got two of these, the flamingo pink (last one in stock and i grabbed it) and the grey heather in size xs. i'm usually an xs at free people. i'm 5'3", 110lbs, 32C for reference. i have shorter legs but the back dip hem ended about mid calf on me.
first thing, the material. the grey heather was so uncomfortable and was not 100% cotton. i see that they have changed that in the description now. and for sizing, it's tight at the top and the arms. the front hem is also quite short. the flamingo is so comfortable and soft and stretchy and is 100% cotton. so the sizing is a little different too, as another reviewer has said.
next specifically the flamingo dress. i LOVE the color and ordered it right when i was notified my size was back in stock. but sadly, i don't know if it's even worth keeping and trying to fix because the button down front and the line in the front is totally crooked. it's not even subtle, it's so obvious. i thought it was just me putting it on wrong or something and i tried adjusting the dress, but no matter what, it was just very very crooked. both holding the dress up and lying it flat shows the lines on the back and front don't line up, either. i'm so upset over this lack of quality control. i have never encountered this problem before at free people. now i guess i know why it was returned.
also, the tag on the flamingo pink dress says intimately while the grey heather dress says fp beach.
i really really want to keep the flamingo dress because it fits so nicely, the color is beautiful, and it feels great, but the terrible alignment kind of ruins it. and now it's sold out. :["

"I really, really, really like this dress! It is so versatile, which makes it so much fun!!! it's definitely something that can be worn all year round. I was a little nervous about the 'high to low' look given that I am 5'3 but, to my surprise, the dress is very flattering on me. If you are shorter you can definitely get away with wearing it as a dress. I absolutely love this dress. I have it in the light army color and am seriously considering purchasing it in the coral color."

"I really wished this dress worked, but it didn't! The fit was very odd, I'm 5'9 and 135lbs so I ordered the small in heather grey. However, it was tight on my shoulders and short in the front. It just looked like a long tunic or something. Really wasn't impressed, and wished it would have fit. It could have been because of my broad shoulders but i'm not too sure."

"I bought in the gray heather and I do love it but only when I belt it. There is so much extra fabric in the back that it is simply too baggy and kind of unflattering and also the arms are very tight, however, like I said, once it's belted in the middle it looks really adorable. I wore it with knee high socks, boots and a leather jacket and got lots of compliments."

"I love the lazy look, so I purchased this dress thinking it would be a great lounge soft and cozy dress, unfortunately the fabric was a lot more stiff than I thought. The fitting was a bit tight in the shoulders and sleeves, and again the fabric wasn't as soft as I imagined. I am sending it back."

"This is a very cute dress on. A little too short at the front so I may try it with leggings. The fabric is very thin, I would have preferred it to be a little thicker. When I first tried the dress on I could not get my arms through the sleeves and I am a small build, size 8-10 normally, but when I tried it on for the second time it had stretched and my arms fit much better. So it appears that the fabric will give with wear. It is also a tight fit around the bust area. I am 35/36 inches around the bust and bought the XS. Not sure if the S would have been better or too big. Having said all that, the dress does look really cute on especially with a wide belt. I was able to re adjust the way the dress sits by pulling it up through the belt, looked very trendy. So many ways to wear this one, can't wait to try."

"I love this dress! It fits TTS and flows beautifully. I have worn it layered with a slip underneath to lengthen the front and short cardigan over the top with leggings and boots. I can see me wearing this in the summer with flip flops over my bikini or as a dress off the beach. As I am 5'11" it does come up quite high on my thighs, but fine with leggings or skinnys whilst it is colder. I bought the grey heather and will be ordering the peach as this is a flattering dress especially if you are tall. I can imagine that it may not drape quite so well if you were petite as there is quite a bit of material at the back.The material is a nice in-between weight and soft to touch."

"I finally got this dress in the grey heather and very glad I did, but took one star off because of the arms, oh FP stop with the super tight arms, read these reviews harrumph. Anyhow apart from that, the dress is gorgeous but fixed the arm problem by gently ironing the dress until the sleeves became bigger. Wore it all day and the arms got a bit looser."

"I bought this in grey. It is supposed to be cotton material, which is important for allergy reasons. It is 50% polyester. The design is so comfy and I love the look and feel of it, so I am still debating whether or not to return it. If you are lucky and don't sweat up a storm in any non natural materials, buy this dress. Now. But if your body feels weird with man made fabrics, this dress is not accurately described."

"I Love this dress ! It's so me. The fabric is soft and the Heather gray is just as pictured. A very stylish piece to add to my wardrobe. "Id love to write a review for this, but I have yet to receive it, as it is lost in UPS somewhere and I cannot get a straight answer from either UPS or Free People. Ordered it almost two weeks ago for a trip...guess its not coming. Free People says theres a claim on package...and UPS says there's not a claim. Who knows? Also missing two other packages from Free People lost in USPS that I ordered two weeks ago as well. Not happy."

Drippy Jersey Dress "Tea Heather"

"I had back-ordered this one, so the wait was long; about 6 weeks. I am 5'7 and a size Large in FP.
I purchased the color "Tea Heather". The name of the color is a bit confusing, "Tea" to me is an off white, old fashioned "Tea Stained" look. This dress is actually a light grey.
Other than that, this dress is just about perfect. It's 100% cotton, soft and easy, I'm in love with it!
The buttons stay together well, the fitted top part is perfect and I love the fullness of the body of the dress, comfortable and hides my figure flaws (gotta love that!)
Also, the fabric is full, but not heavy. It is more of a light to mid-weight jersey slub cotton.
Really cool textural details up close.
In my opinion this dress would work best on taller people, the fabric could possibly overwhelm a shorter girl. It's also good for hiding figure flaws for curvier girls.
I think it is one of the most useful & versatile dresses I've bought from F.P.
I agree with the other reviewer who mentioned the hi-lo hem, it is long in the back and a few inches above my knees in the front. I'm thinking it would be great with a hi-lo hem slip under it, or (obviously) with leggings
