"I love these boots.!!!!! LOVE!!! They are a shoe and they are a boot. I have so much trouble with my big toe on my right foot, it always rubs the top of my shoes and makes it almost impossible to wear flats or any low shoe with a closed toe. This boot has a toe box that does not allow that to happen.... I'm so happy that I am going to order the black ones too! The color is much lighter than the picture shown but I'm hoping mine will age like those pictured."

Beautiful... but still deciding

"I stared at these for quite sometime, and finally went ahead and ordered them. I am a true 8.5 and the 39 fits perfect. The color is also a bit lighter, but not sandy... more like a chalky caramel. They seem fragile, but durable... that is what I am on the fence about. For the price, I really want them to hold up!
Totally cute for spring/summer and even fall.
My main question for freepeople is how to care for them... not anticipating they will get wet, but how do you keep the leather in good condition?"

You can get a spray protectant that works really well. I use them on all of my leather and suede boots! You will want to do a spot check and let them dry to make sure they won't stain at all. The sprays are the less likely to stain. xoxo

"I bought these shoes about a month ago and loved them. Now they have fallen apart almost to the point of being unwearable. The little string part around the band is starting to come off. The back of the strap falls down and I step on it and now its almost ripped. Overall the shoes just look slouchy and sad now. I am really disappointed. I thought shoes this expensive would hold up."

Amazing nude boots

"Color: I got the tan color. They do not look like the picture. They are more nude than tan. But i love the idea of wearing nude boots. They are subtle and go with everything.
Fit: I usually wear 7.5/8. I got a 38. They fit snug, hoping they will stretch a bit. I dont think i can wear thick socks with it, but i wasnt looking to do so anyways. These will be my summer boots.
Style: Look like pictured. No complaints.
Material: I was taken back by how the leather looked. Everything looked floppy. And easily bendable. I would expect them to stretch a bit looking at the material. I thought the curved edges will bite a little, but its actually soft.
@freepeople: You have mastered catalog shots. But please get your pictures more accurate. All you clothes look very different lately from what is shown in the catalog."

"I am always a size 8 or 8 1/2 and went with the size 39. It fits, but my toes just touch the end, not too scrunched so I'm definitely keeping them. However, I imagine any type of sock will make it a packed fit. The leather is not your ideal camel tan color, try a very much faded camel tan, which is unlike the model pictures. The distressed markings are a little strange, not real 'natural' looking, but it works. I'm wearing mine with rolled up crop jeans! Worth the price, and they should probably be treated with some sort of guard against moisture!"

"Ordered these in black. Love them! They have a perfect worn in look and are a great alternative to flats. They look great with everything. They do seem to run a bit small. I am an 8.5 normally and ordered the 40. They fit perfectly with socks and still stay on just fine without. Love. Love. Love."

"I bought these in black and like that it's a nice matte black. They have the details of a boot but they feel like a loafer. I don't find them heavy at all. I ordered my usual size which is 8.5 or Euro 39. They feel just a tad snug in the toes. I could not wear them comfortably with heavy socks but since I'm hoping to wear them with no socks at all, I kept the 39's. I've been wearing them around the house with thin socks and I'm finding that they are relatively (they're not running shoes) comfortable. I think that the leather will soften and probably stretch a little. They look really cute with rolled up pants--a great alternative to flats."

"I fell in love with this shoe the moment it came out. I've been looking for years for the perfect flat that didn't look juvenile. The brown is much lighter in person but still great. The black is lighter as well and I'm trying to get used to it....perhaps my issue is that I don't lean towards black shoes in the first place. They fit a little snug but with thinner socks my regular size fits well. Love how this is a great shoe for any kind of pant bottom."

"These are original shoes, I've never seen any quite like them. I'm returning them because the brown is not like the pictured brown at all and I think that's what I fell in love with, unfortunately. It's a much lighter brown and, to me, makes them not worth the price. I am a true 6.5 and I ordered a 37, which fit perfectly. They're heavy but that goes along with a boot I'd say!"

"I've been wearing the same pair of docs, everyday, for over a year. I loved them and couldn't find any other shoe i'd rather wear, until now. These are just as pictured, and beautiful quality. When i first tried them on, they looked like asian style clogs.. it wasn't until i got used to them that i realized their unique and beautiful potential. They do run a little snug, so if you're in-between sized, size up. They really make my ankles look dainty and are adorable paired with socks."

"These are beautiful high quality shoes. I agree that they run a tad small... I am a size 9-9.5 and bought the 40 (biggest size offered) and they would probably be more comfortable looser. I can still wear thin socks with them. Kinda stiff, but I expect them to soften with wear. I bought the black which has a nice matte distressed look"

"I got these shoes in the mail, they made my day:) They look gorgeous, like slippers but for outdoors. The colour is a bit lighter, less brown than in the picture. And ladies, watch out: Wisely I got them in 1 higher size and they let a bit room to wear them with socks; if you get them in your usual size I guess they'd be quite snug. AND if you want them to stick with you a while you have to sole them extra.. But for me, they're worth it(^^)"

"I bought these the day they came in. While they are called an ankle boot, they're really more of a shoe. I got the black in a 39. The 38 fit, but was just a tad too small, so the 39 (my normal size I'm am 8 1/2) is a bit loose but ok to wear socks with. These look like clogs! The brown are much more distressed in person. Beware!"

"Lovely leather, very soft and a soft ashy grey black. I wear an 8 -81/2 and bought a 39 but have to return them as I cant get my foot in them at all. Very sad as they feel fantastic and the lining feels soft and supportive. I would suggest going up a whole size especially if you want to wear with socks. Would have given them a 5 star rating if they had fitted."

"super cute shoe and even seemed like it would stay on the foot - however, i have worn an 8 all my life, just recently now an 8.5, but with a thin sock on, the 39 was slightly too small. being leather, it might stretch enough, but i am no longer into being uncomforable at all - i wish there was a 39.5 - i think because of style the 40 might be too big and not stay on well. also i guess it depends on whether you are going to wear socks, but i am looking for a winter shoe to wear with socks, and in my experience, leather shoes get smelly with no socks, and these are too expensive to do that to!"
