Josie Embellished Backpack
Heavily embellished canvas backpack with either crochet or a star print on the flap. Bleach spots all over for a cool, rugged look. Colorful rope embellishment and stud detailing. Drawstring closure underneath flap. Two adjustable buckle straps. two large side utility pockets. Adjustable shoulder straps. Large and super spacious.
**Special Note: The bleaching on this backpack is done by hand and will be slightly different on every bag.

"I have been obsessing over these backpacks for quite a while now. Both the Olive Star and the Black Lace. Every time they come back in stock, I order the Olive Star and also the Black Lace and each time, my order was cancelled because I didn't get my order in on time. So depressing :( So I called around stores nearby and afar and found out that there was one Black Lace at the 5th Avenue Store in New York City. I called and lo and behold, one Black Lace was just waiting for me :) The salesgirl I spoke with was so accommodating and super nice. I told her that I have been wanting this backpack and could never get it. She shipped it out to me super fast! It is just perfection! So Pretty with the lace and the dangling daisies and ties. Not many pockets though, 3 in all. 1 on each of the outside sides and 1 small zipper pocket on the inside. No problem for me though as I always put my essentials and extras in small individual bags for easy access. I wanted to use this for travel but I just know I'm going to use it everyday. It's so cute I won't be able to help myself :) Free People, please bring back the Olive Star because I want that one too!!!"

"Well, for someone who's not too fond of backpacks, I was smitten the first time I laid eyes on the olive star option:)) 1. The day I received it my husband's eyes popped with excitement and he asked "where did you get that" 2. I received soooo many complements and questions regarding where I got it - it was unbelievable. 3. It is way larger than expected, there are pockets galore, in addition to the large main compartment. 4. The bleaching and embellishments are perfectly random and adds to the hand made yet vintage feel of the backpack. 5. The straps are very easy to adjust for a snug or loose fit. 6. Overall its work every penny and some; definitely nothing else out there like it. I will be carring this backpack proudly and for a very long time to come:)). Thank you FP A++++++"

"Perfect size to throw all your daily stuff in for work. Today it carries my lunch, a beanie because it's frigid out, my purse, and a mug for making tea in the office. I will be throwing the knitting in there too, sometimes. I got the black one with lace and it's a very pretty sort of ragamuffin chic."

"This backpack is crazy beautiful! I wasn't sure which one I liked more when I saw them online, so I went to my local FP store to check them out. It was no contest, I bought the black. The detail is fantastic and I love the dangling strings of flowers, etc. The straps unhook from the bag at the bottom, so you could even clip them together and turn it into a crossbody messenger style bag. My only complaint is that there is only one inside pocket and it's very small. The two outer pockets almost make up for that, though. I'll be using this for a long, long time."

"Wanted to see the bag in person and I was extremely pleased. I have used it every day since Christmas. Love how big it is in side. There are so many spacious pockets inside it is hard to decide which to use. The bag is sexy and hot. It is an everyday look or a great funky sexy look with jeans and boots. The cords are beautiful, the studs, and bleaching perfect. My 12 year old keeps eyeing it and wants to use it.....that is a first! Free People never disappointed, our bags are art pieces."

"i got this in the black lace. it basically look as pictured, with all the embellishment. the bleaching is different for each bag just as stated. there's one pocket with zipper on the inside. on the outside, there's one pocket with buckle strap, and one large pocket with no closure on each side. the material is canvas and seems sturdy enough. lots of room and quite spacious."
