"I normally wear an 8 or 8.5 in most good brands and took a 38 in these after finding the 39s just WAY too big. The 38 is just about perfect for me with a very comfortable fit that doesn't rub or slide. I've worn them with both ripped jeans and feminine flirty dresses and adore them with both; they'll be equally great with skirts and shorts. Surprisingly, I also walked quite a bit in them in uneven terrain (hilly streets of Asheville, NC) and was comfortable all day! I own a lot of boots, but these have quickly become some of my absolute favorites - wouldn't hesitate to recommend them."
"These are definitely one of a kind and very cute. I ordered the tan and wear them with some nice slouch socks that have lace tops on them . Even though they run large, they are extremely comfortable . My feet seem to feel just right on the arch and heel. Nice with jeans or dressing up! Very well made! Can't wait to see how many compliments I get with these!"
"These boots were a second-choice purchase when I learned that the original slouch boots had sold out. So, with that in mind, I wasn't expecting to really like these, let alone, decide that they're probably the better design for my feet! First of all, the blend of feminine crocheted lace and chunky, distressed leather is so brilliant. Next, the added styling of the strap across the top is interesting, and, also, functional for my high instep. By unfastening it the first few times, I was able to comfortably slip in my feet. Afterward, the leather and fabric seemed to melt around the form of my feet and I've not needed to make any adjustments since. (Nor has the boot stretched in any awkward ways.) I find that the length is perfectly true to size - for me, a US 9 medium = a Euro 39. And the rounded toe box, along with a more slender heel base, accommodate my narrow heels and broad toes in the most delightful way! These boots are not practical for the rugged outdoors where I live, however, on pavement, they are made for walking - for hours upon hours of urban hiking. I bought the tan, and love the versatility of its tones. The distressing is very believable; its warm, tawny hues accent many colors in my wardrobe. Great with skinny jeans, cutoff-shorts, and long skirts. The lack of over-slouching is prevented by a strip of leather running up the back along the Achilles Heel to meet the top band, which is an another subtle detail of stylistic and practical value. Thanks for these, Free People!"

Everyday Boot

"Love these Boots! They go with almost everything and they are perfect for the spring time (since I am not quite ready to give up my boot fetish for the warming weather just yet). I love the little pop of heal they give in the back and the lace crochet adds a little bit of femininity."

Vintage, Feminine and Worth the Price!
3.23.2013-
"These boots are GORGEOUS. All of my friends are jealous. They look just as fabulous in real life as they do online. I saw these on Pinterest I think and I immediately had to find them. I kind of winced at the price only because I never splurge on shoes like this, but now that I see the quality of them they are completely worth it! The only things were that they were a bit more bulky than I realized but the femininity of the crochet lace balances it out. They are also a little bit big but nothing that thick socks or insoles don't fix. I would also warn people to pay attention to the heel size before buying them since they are pretty bulky but I personally love the look of it! Overall these are the most beautiful shoes I've ever owned and I am SO excited to make everyone jealous come warmer weather when I wear them. :)"

LOVE!
3.21.2013-
"Sizing is perfect, absolutely love these boots, have had so many comments as they're so unique and funky. Buy!!"
"the reviews on sizing are all over the place, so i decided to err on the side of caution and order 39 for my usual 8. it's a little loose but not falling off loose. i got the olive and the color is greyish-blue just as pictured. the crochet is delicate, but the leather strip at the back is perfect for pulling the boot up. the boots are perfectly distressed, and the color is neutral enough to be versatile. i also find them quite comfortable. one of the prettiest boots i now proudly own."

It cute...but...
3.12.2013-
"I was so in love with these shoes in the picture. Even though i think it's a bit pricy, I was so obsessed I gotta have them right away. However, when I received the package, I was a little disappointed. Package: very nice. Shoes: very lovely. But... can't help but feeling not happy as I expected. 1st, size run a bit large. I usually wear a size 37, but these feel kinda loose on my feet. 2nd, the overall look a bit boyish, despite of the lace. 3rd, they're not very comfortable for walking, the heels are a bit heavy. So, even though these boots are pretty , i don't think I would buy them if i have a chance to try them on first. However I'm a boots maniac so I'm gonna hold them on since these boots are rare to find."

New favorite!
3.11.2013-
"I just got these in the mail. I ordered the grey, it's more of a dark brown, but I am absolutely in love with them! I am normally a size 9 and usually in Euro sizing I'm a 40, they fit like a glove and don't need much wearing in. The only issue i could see myself having with these shoes is the crochet, I'm worried that I might rip it while putting them on."
"Well I ordered all three colors and kept two. So I obviously like them (a lot!) the first pair, the olive, ran very large. I am an 8.5 usually. I bought all the boots in 39. The olive came in a blue gray with no distressing on the leather or the fabric. They were really big with a huge toe box. I returned them and got the gray. Those were more of a black distressed and ran a whole size smaller! I loved them and distressed them even more as the black rubbed off easily. Then I ordered the tan. Those ran big again, but I kept them since they were so pretty. These were very hard to distress, the color wouldn't rub off, so I added a few different shades of tan & brown polish to help age them. The gray (blackish brown) fits snug (closer to an 8) and the tan, fits large like a sz 9 (I use socks) , the olive (blue-gray) felt like a 9.5. The size really varied; final thought: I would buy them if I were you, take a chance, you can always exchange them. And don't pull them up by the fabric! Grab the leather to pull. I love the two pairs I kept!"

Love, love, love
3.5.2013-
"I debated getting these because european sizing is not a 1:1 correlation. I went ahead and took the plunge and I'm so glad I did. I do wear a 5 1/2 and am true to size in a boot. The smallest they had was the 36 which is a 6. I have PLENTY of room in the boot and cannot wear these without a sock or something a little thicker. I'm still keeping them. They are BEAUTIFUL and I can't wait to wear them with a skirt or dress. They look great with a pair of skinny jeans. The shaft is definitely a delicate lace and much care must be taken. I got the olive and the color is true to the pic."
"I am so disappointed! I loved the look of these boots but had to return them. The actual foot area was to large and just not a good look for my foot. I don't have much of an instep so lots of boot that just puckered and buckled, didn't look good. Just not made for my foot. The size was right, length good just to much leather for the top of my foot area. I agree with some of the other buyers, the olive is a smoky blue gray, but beautiful!"

"ordered them online and when they arrived, i was really amazed by how beautiful they are. i think they look even more amazing than the photo! they make simple jeans & tee more romantic & classy. i'm a size 9 but these are just a teeny bit loose. but i guess if i order anything smaller, they would be too tight. btw, fast shipping!"

Beautiful!

"This is my first footwear purchase from FP and I am absolutely in love with them! I am usually US size 5.5-6, so I was hesitant about the Euro size. Just look to the site's size chart for reference or have an associate at a shoe store measure you accurately. The "grey" is most definitely dark brown. Crochet portion is very delicate, so be highly mindful when wearing these out as it can easily snag. And if you have very slender feet like me, the shape of the shoe inside makes it surprisingly very comfortable!"

In love with these boots....
2.19.2013-
"When I first saw these boots in a photo, I couldn't wait to try them on. I called Free People to find out what size I should order in US sizes. I just got the boots today in the mail and it was "wow" from the minute I opened the box. I immediately tried them on and "wow" again - so comfortable! I ordered the tan and the "olive" (which is actually a dusty blue). So glad I got both.
For comfort and cuteness, this boot gets five stars! I wear a 7.5 to an 8 in US sizes so I ordered a Euro 38, which is exactly correct. A 39 would have been too big."

Love them!

"I love these boots! I bought them from a free people store over the phone before they became available on the website. I bought the olive color and it in person it is more of a grey blue which is the color I was hoping for. The sizes are Euro sizes so I am not sure what a size seven is translating into Euro, but the girl on the phone recommended a Euro 38 and they are too big for me. I am going to exchange them, but these boots are so cute and def. worth getting!"
"These are beautiful boots! The fit is pretty tts, and the crochet is lovely. However, the olive color way is more of a light blue-grey rather than an olive green, depending on what color you hold them up to. These are identical to the Crochet Slouch Boot from last year except for the addition of the strap across the ankle, which is decorative and non-functional for tightening up the fit. The crochet is sturdy, however I would be careful about tugging on it to get the boots on and off. They are awesome on, and easy to walk in. I will be exchanging these for the grey color way, which looks more like a dark brown online."

Good News For Big Feet
2.7.2013-
"Such precious shoes with a sturdy fit and a functional yet delicate feel. A perfect spring boot especially for wearers in the south because the open-stich crochet it will keep your legs from getting hot!! So so fun and beautiful when paired with Freeps' other floral pieces!!!!! I have wide and large feet (so attractive) and a size 40 fit me so well!! I can't imagine anyone regretting buying these shoes once they see their versatility and beautiful craftsmanship."
