"I absolutely love this dress! I bought it for summer, and I already know I'm going to get a ton of use out of it. It is a little bit itchy, but it's so adorable I can overlook that. I wore it without a bra and it was fine for me even with the open sides (I'm a 32B for reference). It wasn't too long either, it came just past the knees on me (5'2 for reference). I got my usual xs, and it was indeed a bit roomy, but I like that about it and I got tons of compliments. Just buy it!"

"I saw this dress in the store and it is so much prettier in person! I bought the multi-colored on that has a white background and wore some red lipstick with jeffrey campbell black booties. I am 5"10 and 135 lbs and the XS fit perfectly(I'm usually a small) and the length was great too-not too short above the knee. I pulled the side ties a little tighter and put a bandeau underneath which worked out perfectly to wear to work. Super comfortable and great for summer!"

A Bit Disappointing...

"I had been really looking forward to this dress after seeing it online. When I saw it in the store today I was not impressed. The material and the print were nothing like my other Free People Pieces. I found the size to run fairly true, maybe a bit larger in the skirt area. I am a 34-36 C-D and did not care for how the bust area fit, I believe it would be better on a AA-B cup. I did however like the sides of the dress with the lace up detail, very unique. The dress is shorter then it appears on the model, I am 5' 5" and it hit me well above the knees, approx 4-5 inches above the knee. The store did not have in stock the next size up so I could not see if that would help solve the problem with length."

"I am 5"3, weigh around 105 to 110 pounds, 32 C chest, slender build and got the extra small in the tomatoe. Fits me like the model. However, because she is taller, the bottom hits her above the knee. My dress hits me around the knees which looks fine. The dress is meant to be worn flowy and revealing on the sides. You can wear a lace no wire bra underneath and it looks fine. All and all, the dress came exactly as pictured on the model. Hope this helps those deciding what size to buy."

"Love this dress. It's true what others are saying though, it is much longer than in the photos but I think that's just because generally the models are quite tall so ofcourse it is going to be longer on an average sized person. The side detail is beautiful and if you are a bit busty you will have a lot of 'side boob' appearance going on. Side boob doesn't bother me though, I don't think it's more offensive than front cleavage so I don't wear a bra with this dress. Loved it so much I bought it in tomato and ivory"

"I was extremely excited to receive this dress in the mail. I opened the package and instantly fell in love with it. The fabric was wonderful and the details were beautiful. It all went down hill when I tried it on. It was way too long. It looked pretty short on the model in the picture and I figured it would be a pretty average length on me since I am quite short. It was below my knees at the most unflattering length possible. I ordered a medium (I am typically a small or medium). The side details in the bust area are what I was most excited about and it turned out to be a huge disappointment. When I drew the strings tighter so that my entire boob wasn't hanging out of the side it just looked weird. I could probably deal with the details on the side by wearing a bandeau, but the length was over all what really got to me. So sad because it is such a lovely dress."

"I bought this dress pretty much as a basic, but every time I wear it I like it more. I got the ivory with gold print in M, and it runs pretty true to size. One thing I love about this dress is that even though is ivory, you can wear it without a bra because the pleading on the top makes it not see through, a ++++ when you are a full 34C. Not a big fan of it fraying after washing but you can cut that off :)"

"I fell in love with this dress online! My boyfriend was so sweet, he went and got it for me. I put it on and was not immediately impressed but figured I'd hold onto it. A few days later I decided to try it on again and it finally sunk in how ridiculous this looked on me. I'm 5'8, 128lbs, 34b and I had a size small. The bust fit ok, the rest was like a huge parachute! Totally unflattering. It made everything below my waist look LARGE. Also, it came down to like an inch above my knees? Anyways, it just went back to the store and was exchanged for a dress that doesn't make me look like a balloon."

Stunning, but...

"The dress is stunning. It's a brilliant, bold orange color that, in addition to the intricate detail, in itself is reason to buy this! It falls in a free moving and flattering way and is light and comfortable. The only issue I have is it's not the best dress (with the side opening) for those of us with a bust. It covers my chest area like a triangle top bikini and allows a distracting amount of side boob. I'll have to wear something under it."

"I picked up this dress in Ivory. I have big boobs so I got the medium. I usually wear a 4 to 6 in a dress. The only one I tried on in the store. You never know with FP clothes as the sizing is all over the place. I'm 5'9" and it fits me just a tad shorter than the model in the pic..
It's very flowing and the ties at the side still bunch up towards the bottom. I found putting it in a knot rather than a bow leaves no room for the possibility of it coming untied. (which happened to me on first wearing) I wore an ivory cami underneath and a skirt slip as in the sun you can see through the dress. Way safer too if you find yourself on a windy day.
The fabric is thicker and feels quality."

"I wasn't a fan of this at all. THe seam at the bustline adds about 50 pounds and the lace up at the side makes bras a nightmare to deal with. The print is insane and I love the trim, but on top of everything, I'm 5'2" and the dress came to my knees in a small. Sizing down wouldn't have helped most of my problems with this garment."

"I'm usually a small but bought this dress in a medium instead. Because when you tie the sides too tight, the material bunches up and looks odd. I got this dress in ivory and wore it with the Tea Party Lace Crop bra in the ivory combo. It is a bit sheer and the quality is just okay. I have sensitive skin and the gold stitching detail is a bit rough and annoying.
Not recommended for a busty girl, in my opinion."

"I love the fabric of this dress, the quality, the print, the colors -- basically everything but the fit. This isn't a very flattering dress, and I don't think it's just me. Part of the problem is that it's both long and wide. I would have sized down, but being an xs, there's no such option! I wish that FP had smaller sizes and/or a petites size. This would be a lovely dress if it fit the way it does in the catalog (ie, hitting mid-thigh instead of at my knees!)."

"I received this adorable dress a couple of days ago and I can't stop wearing it. I ordered the Ivory color and it's true to the picture. I normally wear an X-Small which I ordered and it fits perfectly. I have a small bust and the dress looks exactly like the model. It's on the cool side in the mornings where I live so I paired it with tights, boots and a bodysuit underneath. In the afternoons I shed the bodysuit for a bralette and also shed the tights and don my sandals. The ties on the sides of the dress is such an awesome touch and also changes the look of the dress depending on how tight you tie the ties. I tried tying the side ties across the front waist. It's really cute that way and flattens the front portion of the dress which gives you a skinnier look. I'm 5'2 and the X-Small hits just a bit above my knees. I highly recommend this cute dress. So perfect for Spring, and especially for the upcoming Summer."

"Love love love this dress! It is so beautiful and beautifully made. The detail on it is amazing. It is rather big, but this is the style so I wouldn't say it runs large. I would suggest sizing down if you want a more fitted look. The only thing I do not like about the dress is the fit. The tie sides come down too far and do not lace up well. Because you are unable to tighten them all the way up, the whole side of your breast is exposed. It is also is a bit longer than on the model. I'm 5'5 and it comes just over my knee I love it so might have it altered."

"I'm busty and this just wasn't for me fit wise. But my real issue with this numer was the colour. It's orange, not orange with some red, but orange orange...and I like orange tones normally but I didn't think to was nice. Also didn't lie, the fabric, it was just flat cotton, like the print a lot though and the sparkle and blue trim is pretty."

"this dress is so pretty and perfect for hot summer days. It is free flowing but has some weight so it fall perfectly (not too fly away) The pictures don't do it justice. The side ties are a nice twist and make this already beautiful dress even more interesting. Will go perfect with almost any style of shoe and can be layered or belted to change the styling. Both colors are true. I have a large bust (DD) but don't think I will need a bra since it is not sheer at all and the straps are adjustable and you can adjust the side ties as well. Thanks FP for my summer uniform"

"I had been eyeing this dress for a while and I finally decided to purchase it! The ivory color is so beautiful in person with the accent of the golden ribbon trim on the bottom! I am 5' 8, 120 lbs, and 32A and the small fits nicely! The dress is a little roomy in the bust area for me so I paired their lace bandeau bra in taupe with the dress and its beautiful! The side lacing on the dress is so elegant and I have received multiple compliments on it! The ivory is a little bit sheer in the sunlight at the bottom of the dress. Overall I love this dress and it was a great purchase!"
